The October Election Results

The Union’s annual by-elections concluded last week, in which you voted on who you want to represent you across the university and the Students' Union.

We also elected an additional 78 Student Reps across the university, to help represent your voice. To find out if your course has a rep, and who they are, go to our Find My Rep page and enter your course name. If you don’t see a rep, then your course might be one of the few still missing one, we encourage you to get in touch with the Representation team if you want to step up to this important position.

In our Executive Officer elections, we had a whopping 12 candidates standing across the 3 available positions. The winners were as follows:

LGBTQ+ Students’ Officer: Ellie Lynn

BAME Students’ Officer: Mohit Nayal

In the heavily contested Postgraduate Students’ Officer electionArjun Anilkumar Nair managed to overcome 8 other candidates, taking the election by only 9 votes.

In the Union Council Chair election, Ana Silva Timoteo secured the position, beating out Vytautas Kravcenka by 5 votes. She will be working closely with the Sabbatical Officer team to help run and present Union Council throughout the year.

Rishabh Jindal, Preeti Kumari and Dhanya Mohan have been elected as your NUS Delegates to represent Bucks SU at the National Union of Students Conference in April next year.

Preeti Kumari was also elected as our Food Sustainability Ambassador for 2023-24.

We'd like to extend our thanks and congratulations to all candidates. It takes courage to stand before your peers and for your valuable ideas on how we can enhance the University and the Students' Union, each of you deserves our admiration. We eagerly anticipate the achievements of our new student leaders in the upcoming year.
