January is finally over, and whilst it's felt like the longest month ever, our members have made it a truly memorable one. They've started the year off strong with plenty of wins, good deeds, and hard work. So, let's move on to celebrating those stand out members...
Rep of the month
We have two reps this month who have gone above and beyond. Renee Summers and Tamzyn Regan have been praised for working together collaboratively to raise issues that are impacting both the Performing Arts and Acting students so far this term. They have utilised working with the wider Union team to support promoting a positive experience for all of the students that they represent.
Volunteer of the month
You may recognise this name as your Movember Ambassador, but no one is more deserving of Volunteer of the month this month than Ratu Nailatikau. Ratu is giving his time to rugby as a committee member, he also each week opens up and looks after Bucks New Usage, Ratu has volunteered for the One Can Trust and is always encouraging the Rugby team to volunteer there time for the community.
Society of the month
Diving into Students' Union projects and jumping headfirst into planning their events for the term, Tabletop and Gaming have certainly stood out this month. They have been heavily involved in the #BucksSUMoreThanABar campaign, outstripping any other club or society by a considerable distance. They have also started planning their takeover, getting things organised behind the scenes making sure it will run as smoothly as possible and they continue to log their volunteering hours and organise and run numerous sessions a week.
Club of the month
Both on and off the pitcxh, Bucks FC have made themselves stand out as a club this past month. The men’s football team have contributed heavily to volunteering and important Students' Union projects including fundraising for one our your chosen Raise and Give (RAG) charities, Bucks Mind, over at the Wycombe Wanderers stadium and supporting mental health awareness projects. On the pitch the Bucks FC 1st team have continued to roll on to the top of their league and through to the quarter finals of the cup.
