This month students have been working super hard fundraising as much money for our two RAG charities as possible. Just a reminder that our two RAG charities for this academic year are Thames Valley Air Ambulance and Hillingdon Autistic Care and Support.
A huge well done to some of our clubs and societies who have really got creative with their fundraising ideas with tuck shops to swimathons!
Firstly, well done to Bucks Men’s Rugby, and in particular Tom Featherstone and Danny Pearson, who organised and managed a tuck shop at our Wednesday night Frat House and the annual Bucks Dance competition where they managed to raise over £50.
Another well done to the BNU Dance club committee, Millie Richmond, Liz Colley, Jess Smith, Sasha Bonewell, Jade Clifford and Paige Anderson. On Saturday 22 February they held their annual Bucks Dance competition. This competition and the raffle always raises a great amount money and dance committee have kindly agreed to donate half of the money to RAG. Although the total has not been confirmed as of yet, we are very proud of all of the committee members for the success of the event and are very grateful for the kind contribution to our RAG charities.
This Tuesday to celebrate pancake day, BNU Swans organised a pancake sale for RAG. We'd like to give a shoutout to Ellie Ramsden for organising the event and the sale managed to raise £38.50.
Lastly but certainly not least Snowsoc, who held an amazing swimathon for charity where they swam and incredible 780 lengths (20k!). We'd like to give a special mention to Tamsin Grainger, the chair of Snowsoc, for organizing the event. They have manged to raise £177!
Congratulations to all clubs and societies for supporting our RAG charities as well as you do, the charities are always so grateful!
There are many more RAG events coming up before the end of term 2, with a bake sale held by Karate this Friday (28 February) in Beats Cafe. If you are feeling peckish head down between noon and 3pm to grab a yummy treat.
