Following on from TimeToTalk day yesterday, we wanted to remind you that we have a dedicated page on our website that has both internal resources at Bucks as well as external mental health support resources to support you. Please do check it out and let us know if there is any support service you think should be added on there. We are also pleased to announce that between our fundraising as a Student’s Union for Brew Monday as well as the collaboration with The Little Box of Happy we have raised just over £100! A massive thank you to all those who bought a Brew Monday raffle ticket or donated. The money will be going straight to the Samaritans to support those in need. Don't forget that the Samaritans are available to talk 24/7 through their phone number 116 123.
We know that times are tough right now and we wanted to provide you with something that would both support your mental health as well as creating some new and exciting opportunities. We are excited to be delivering our first wellbeing week of 2021. We have a variety of sessions including honest hours with our executive officers, a dedicated signposting day for our Nursing students on Thursday 11 February across our socials as well as a number of fitness classes, Instagram takeovers and wellbeing workshops including managing difficult emotions being delivered by Bucks Mind.
We will also be sharing a story each day next week of both members of our staff and students sharing stories about them overcoming struggles with their mental health as well as promoting tips for positive mental health and wellbeing. Keep an eye out for these on our website and in the next edition of the newspaper.
It’s incredibly important to look after your mental health and we hope that next week will support you as well as help you learn something new. Feel free to message me (su.vpew@bucks.ac.uk) if you have any questions!
