What is Fairtrade?
Fairtrade works with farming co-operatives, businesses and governments to make trade fairer.
Together with Fairtrade farmers and workers we have a vision: a world in which trade is based on fairness so that producers earn secure and sustainable livelihoods.
We can achieve this by rallying a global community of millions – farmers and workers, supply chain partners, brands, retailers, shoppers, schools, government – to pay fair prices and uphold fair production standards and practices.
Fair prices provide an immediate lifeline for farmers and workers struggling with low incomes and disadvantaged by global trade.
SMILE campaign day 1
We kicked off the SMILE campaign on Monday 18th November. At 7am, 35 students came and collected the Fairtrade bananas, flapjacks and cookies to be handed out.
2606 smiles were recorded from commuters and people heading to work. The students were joined by our Elected Officers where they helped promote Fairtrade and all the amazing work behind ethical trade.
Making people SMILE on a cold November morning is also a great way to boost mental health around the High Wycombe community and also for our students handing out the Fairtrade products.
