What is More Than A Bar?
More Than A Bar is a month long campaign highlighting the wonderful services that Bucks Students’ Union offers. From our dedicated team over at the Advice Centre, to the diverse range of sports and activities made possible by our activities team, Bucks Students’ Union is more than just a bar, and throughout the month we would like to ask you for your most genuine input on how Bucks Students’ Union benefits your life at university.
Okay… What survey do I have to fill out now?
We get it, surveys aren’t great, so we’ve made this whole thing as simple and fun as possible. We will be giving out physical cards where you can let us know one or 10 things about how Bucks Students’ Union has improved your student life, just leave your comment on one of these cards and return it to the SU reception. Alternatively, visit our More Than A Bar survey and complete the literal 10 second quiz. Literally 10 seconds.
Each submission we get is an entry towards our Jackpot Prize. Could be 50p, could be £1000, it all depends on you. For every valid entry we receive, we increase the jackpot by 10p. Basically, 10 entries equals a £1 prize pot, 100 entries equals a £10 prize pot, 1000 entries equals £100, and so on… Oh, and you can enter more than once.
Also, while you’re dropping off these cards, come and spin the wheel where you have the chance to win anything from a free hug to a weeks supply of toilet roll.

Is there another way to submit an entry?
Social Media
If you’re chronically online and writing on cards isn’t your thing, we’ll be taking entries through social media (Instagram, Facebook, Twitter). You can write a heartfelt caption about how Bucks Students’ Union has been helpful towards your student journey so far, followed by #BucksSUMoreThanABar. Alternatively, you can do the same in our comments section.

Comment Cards
We’ll be handing out More Than A Bar comment cards throughout campus where you can write one thing about how Bucks Students’ Union has helped you during your time at university, just hand it to the SU when you’ve filled it out and it’ll count as an entry towards the jackpot prize.
Online Feedback
If surveys are your thing, look out for our More Than A Bar QR code that we’ve placed throughout campus and fill in the one question More Than A Bar survey.
Announcing a Winner for the Prize Pot
Entries open Monday 8 January 2024. The deadline for entries to the prize pot is Thursday 1 February 2024. All valid entries (from social media, comment cards, and survey) will be scattered on the floor and my pet hamster will randomly decide the winner. The winner for the prize pot will then be announced on Friday 2 February 2024 on our social media and on our website.

Advice Centre –
We have a friendly team of advisers who provide free, impartial, and confidential advice to all our members on a wide range of issues from personal problems to financial issues, accommodation advice and academic queries.
Representation –
Our representation team are here to ensure that your voice is being heard at all levels. They support our network of paid student reps, our school officers, and executive officers in representing their student communities. They also play a large part in helping our members to run impactful and successful campaigns.

Probably something that has more weight to it rather than "cheap drinks", for example. We genuinely want to know the important things we offer that improve your quality of life as a Bucks Students' Union member, to ensure we stay on the right tracks.
How do I become a Bucks Students' Union member?
If you're reading this, you most likely already are a member. All BNU students are automatically a member of Bucks Students' Union, so make sure you make the most of our FREE perks.
