The Union’s annual elections concluded last week, culminating in the election of a brand-new elected officer team for 2024-25. Across the week, over 1,000 individual members voted in one of our elections. It’s fantastic to see so many of our members engaging in the Union’s democratic processes.

In our hugely contested Student Trustee election, Ishia Jack, Om Dhadwal, and Dee Whyte were installed for the next academic year. Ishia, Om, and Dee will be responsible for overseeing the governance of the organisation, its finances, and its people - making sure we are in the best possible place to serve our members.
In the elected (sabbatical) officer elections, the results were as follows:
Vice President Education and Welfare (Uxbridge and Aylesbury)
A total of 624 valid votes were cast and the quota to be elected was 313:
- Bethany Jackson: 566
- RON: 58
Bethany Jackson is elected as the Vice President Education and Welfare (Uxbridge and Aylesbury), 2024-25
Vice President Achievement and Belonging
A total of 792 valid votes were cast and the quota to be elected was 397:
- Wren Sell: 199
- Erin Cook: 146
- Rishi Bhatt: 152
- Renee Reynolds: 60
- Ana Silva Timoteo: 79
- Marissa Leyden: 149
- RON: 7
Renee Reynolds and RON were eliminated at this stage and in the second round of voting, there were 752 valid votes cast and the quota now stood at 377:
- Wren Sell: 205
- Erin Cook: 147
- Rishi Bhatt: 155
- Ana Silva Timoteo: 86
- Marissa Leyden: 159
Consequently, Ana was eliminated. In the third round of voting, there were 707 valid votes cast and the reduced quota now stood at 355:
- Wren Sell: 216
- Erin Cook: 158
- Rishi Bhatt: 159
- Marissa Leyden: 174
At this stage, by just a single vote, Erin was eliminated. In the fourth round of voting, the position was as follows:
- Wren Sell: 237
- Rishi Bhatt: 179
- Marissa Leyden: 193
After the fourth stage, Rishi was eliminated. In the final round of voting the quota to be elected was 250 votes:
- Marissa Leyden: 219
- Wren Sell: 279
Wren Sell was therefore elected as the Vice President Achievement and Belonging, 2024-25.
Vice President Education and Welfare (High Wycombe)
A total of 748 valid votes were cast and the initial quota to be elected was 375:
- Ellie Lynn: 160
- Nikola Milkiewicz: 81
- Harry Tomlinson: 224
- Rishabh Jindal: 27
- Anna Treble: 35
- Dhanya Mohan: 70
- Lauren Feagan: 91
- Bethany Jackson: 52
- Re-open nominations: 8
RON and Rishabh Jindal were eliminated. In the second round of voting, there were 723valid votes cast and the quota now stood at 362.5:
- Ellie Lynn: 162
- Nikola Milkiewicz: 82
- Harry Tomlinson: 225
- Anna Treble: 36
- Dhanya Mohan: 74
- Lauren Feagan: 91
- Bethany Jackson: 53
Following this, Anna was eliminated. In the third round of voting, there were 706 valid votes cast and the quota now stood at 354:
- Ellie Lynn: 171
- Nikola Milkiewicz: 83
- Harry Tomlinson: 228
- Dhanya Mohan: 78
- Lauren Feagan: 91
- Bethany Jackson: 55
Bethany was then eliminated. The total valid vote was 667 and the quota was now 339.5:
- Ellie Lynn: 177
- Nikola Milkiewicz: 88
- Harry Tomlinson: 236
- Dhanya Mohan: 79
- Lauren Feagan: 97
Dhanya was the next candidate to be eliminated and the new quota stood at 314:
- Ellie Lynn: 184
- Nikola Milkiewicz: 96
- Harry Tomlinson: 243
- Lauren Feagan: 103
Nikola was eliminated and we were left with three candidates and a quota of 289:
- Ellie Lynn: 208
- Harry Tomlinson: 258
- Lauren Feagan: 110
With no one reaching the quota, Lauren was eliminated, and we headed into our final round, and a quota of 253
- Ellie Lynn: 217
- Harry Tomlinson: 287
At this point Harry Tomlinson was elected Vice President Education & Welfare (High Wycombe).
President
In the Presidential election, a total of 885 valid votes were cast and the quota to be elected was 443.5. In the first round, the votes were as follows:
- Amy Pile: 361
- Mikhail George: 193
- Euan Abrar McGinness: 142
- Ines Silva: 153
- Rishabh Jindal: 27
- Re-open nominations: 9
After Rishabh and RON were eliminated, the quote was now 431.5, the redistributed votes stood at:
- Amy Pile: 366
- Mikhail George: 194
- Euan Abrar McGinness: 144
- Ines Silva: 157
At that stage, Euan was eliminated, and a new quota of 380.5 was set:
- Amy Pile: 378
- Mikhail George: 216
- Ines Silva: 165
Ines was eliminated at this stage, and we headed into the final round with a quota of 333.5:
- Amy Pile: 423
- Mikhail George: 242
Amy Pile was therefore elected President, 2024-25.
