This year see's the launch of our Donation Station. Not so long ago, you wold bring your kindly donated goods to the Students' Union Officer and wonder blindly if you were in the right place. Now however, Donation Station is here to make it easier than ever for you to help out those in need.
The Donation Station is located besides the Amazon Lockers in North Wing on our High Wycombe Campus and includes our battery recycling box so you can help save the planet one TV remote at a time and a Bra Bank. The Bra Bank is in pertnership with Against Breat Cancer collects your unwanted or unloved bras for recycling, preventing them from going into landfill before giving them a new lease of life. For every tonne of bras collected, Against Breast Cancer receives £700 to fund their research.
Alongside supporting you in reducing what you send to landfill, the Donation Station will also play host to our Give to Refresh intiative, in partnership with the University and Beauty Banks. This is where you can donate personal care and hygiene products for all those in need, this could include shampoo, bodywash, toothbrushes, disposable razors, face wash, deodorant, toothpaste, baby wipes, spot cream, and even your unopened makeup. Anything travel size is particularly useful for those in temporary accommodation and homeless shelters, but anything you can donate goes a long way to eliminating hygiene poverty.
If you have any unused and unopened items you can donate kicking around in your cupboard, or if you're able to pick up an extra roll on deodorant next time you're at the shops, it would mean a lot if you could drop them off at our Donation Station.
