BNU Dance Club hosted their annual Bucks Comp on campus with some amazing performances from our teams, a half-time show from Rusty Buck, and taking home the prize for Best Team Spirit.
It was an incredible day as we saw our teams head out to their second competition of the year on Saturday 19 February. With 8 universities all coming together, it was an outstanding way to kick off dance competitions after not being able to host since 2020 (thanks COVID)
With ten categories across the day and an awards ceremony in the evening, it was great to see such talent from not only our BNU Dance club, but those at the Royal Veterinary College, University of Roehampton, Middlesex University, University of Surrey, Kingston University, University of Brighton, and University of Essex.
What's even more exciting is that our teams placed in 4 of the categories, won one, and even brought home a little extra.
The awards are as follows:
Novice Ballet - 2nd place
Advanced Tap - 1st place
Advanced Contemporary - 3rd place
Advanced Jazz - 3rd place
That little extra we mentioned? Well We only went and won ‘Best Team Spirit’. So we'd like to say a very special thanks to all the volunteers that were there on the day, along with friends, family, Rusty Buck, and the dance club. The atmosphere was amazing and this award was very well deserved.
So much work goes into planning, organising, and delivering the competition so thank you to everyone that was involved. Bucks Men’s Rugby who were there at 6am Saturday morning to help with the set up. We also saw Men’s Basketball, Netball, LGBTQ+, Bucks FC, and Musical Theatre there throughout the day to cheer our teams on and to help with the clearing at the end of the day. All of your efforts are greatly appreciated.
If you want to see more of our BNU Dance Club, then they'll be competing at University of Surrey on Saturday 19 March.
