Bucks Students’ Union would like your support in Bucks Challenge. What is Bucks Challenge you ask? Well, it is our very own version of the BRIT Challenge, originally set up by Phil Packer a charity activist who suffered serious injuries whilst serving with the British Military in Iraq 08.
What is Bucks Challenge?
Our aim is to engage as many students and staff members as possible to complete different challenges based around improving mental health and fitness all while raising as much money for our RAG Charity, Stokenchurch Dog Rescue in the process.
To do this we will be running 24 different events, starting on Wednesday 17 January, ending on Wednesday 21 February, and centred around the number 24. Yes, it not a coincidence, if you hadn’t already guessed the reasoning behind this, it is to do with the current year of 2024. The challenges have been specifically chosen to make sure they are not overwhelming or off putting, but to give people a break from their normal routine and have a laugh with friends.
When Is Bucks Challenge and What Will I be Doing?
Bucks Challenge will be kicking off in The Atrium where we are challenging people to collectively row 2024m in the quickest time, and/or try and stop the rowing machine on 24m exact, lastly do 24 seconds of table tennis returns or a rally of 24 in the quickest time. The 24 events will culminate with a 24-hour Sport-a-thon in February taking place in the Events Hall where there will be a whole heap of traditional sports and some not quite so traditional sports taking place! Keep track of our socials and the What’s on page for events coming up over the next 5 weeks.
