We are thrilled to announce that Project Preloved has been awarded the prestigious "Excellent" status by the Green Impact for Students’ Union (GISU) for the 2023-24 period. This certificate recognises our dedicated commitment towards sustainability and our innovative approach to promoting sustainability in our everyday lives.
Project Preloved
Project Preloved is aimed to reduce our environmental impact through the encouragement of repurposing second-hand goods. Our initiatives are rooted in the belief that sustainable practices can significantly reduce our carbon footprint and conserve the planet's natural resources.
Biodiversity
Our second campaign, Biodiversity, saw our members making bild flower bombs, making bug and bee houses and planting trees around campus. Partnering with Chiltern Rangers has allowed us to expand our impact.
By making bug and bee houses, as part of our commitment to biodiversity, we have invested in reforestation and habitat restoration projects. These efforts have helped restore natural habitats, supporting wildlife and increasing biodiversity.
The Green Impact for Students’ Union (GISU) is renowned for its rigorous evaluation of sustainability efforts within universities. Achieving "Excellent" status is a testament to the effectiveness and impact of our initiatives. This recognition motivates us to continue pushing boundaries and setting higher standards for environmental stewardship.
Our plans moving forward
Whilst we celebrate this achievement, we recognise that the journey towards sustainability is ongoing. We are committed to expanding our efforts, exploring new ways to promote biodiversity, and engaging with our community to foster a sustainable future.
