Last week we had our first RAG (Raise and Give) week of the year and we would like to say a massive thank you to all of the clubs and societies who helped run the events during the week, and to everyone who had donated to our two brilliant RAG charities, Buckinghamshire Mind and Hearing Dogs For Deaf People. We raised a total of £867.30 and we were so blown away by this amount, so thank you!
Over the week, we asked you to wear it yellow to your training/sessions and yellow really does suit you all. We had a visit from the one and only Poppy from Hearing Dogs For Deaf People to get all the cuddles in. It was the return of Pumpkin Carving competition from BNU Dance and the famous Netball4RAG, which saw Wetballers come out victorious.
We ran our first RAG Takeover of the year, I Put A Spell On You, which saw Women’s Hockey being the best dressed and Men’s Rugby getting covered in glitter! We also had people handcuffed together for the day and taking on some brilliant challenges, such as baking, singing, push ups and even the macarena.
It’s been a fantastic week of events, but that’s not where this ends. Throughout the year, there will be plenty more opportunities for you to get involved with to help raise money for our two RAG charities. To help us meet our fundraising goal, we’ll be hosting another RAG week in term 2, which will run from Monday 30 January to Friday 3 February 2023, so keep your eyes peeled on our Instagram (@bucks.ragambassador) for events.
We’re also really excited to be supporting the Big Sleep Out for Wycombe Homeless Connection which is taking place on Saturday 26 November. We’ll be heading up to Adam’s Park for the night and hope to see as many of you there as possible.
If you want to support our RAG charities with a fundraise, or fundraise for another charity, drop an email to the volunteering team volunteering@bnu.ac.uk and find out how we can help.
