Hello everyone!

My name is Amy, and I'm thrilled to introduce myself as the President of Bucks Students’ Union. Previously, I served as Vice President Education and Welfare at the Uxbridge and Aylesbury campuses. As I settle into this new role, I’ve been overwhelmed by the support and warmth from everyone.

Together with the other elected officers, we have been actively visiting campuses. We’ve already spent time at Uxbridge and Wycombe, and next week, on July 19th, we’ll be visiting Aylesbury. It's an exciting time, and I'm fully immersing myself in the role, collaborating with the team at the Students’ Union to plan for the year ahead.

Meetings and engagement with our members haven’t stopped. I've been attending various induction sessions, as well as board and committee meetings, representing all of you and ensuring your voices and concerns are heard.

I’m excited to be taking on this role because I am passionate about making a positive impact on your student experience, enhancing campus life, and advocating for your needs. I look forward to collaborating with all of you to achieve great things and create lasting memories together.

Focus Areas for the Year

As President of Bucks Students' Union, my role is to ensure that our members, the students of BNU, have the experience they deserve. I work to maintain a strong partnership between the University and the Union, acting as a critical friend to the institution. Additionally, I chair our Trustee Board, sit on the University’s governing body, and engage with the broader higher education sector.

Here are some key areas I’ll be focusing on this year:

1. Addressing Digital Poverty: Ensuring all students have access to the necessary resources and equipment for their studies, including access to university well-being support services.

2. Improving Transport and Parking Facilities: Making commuting to campus more convenient and efficient for everyone.

3. Supporting Student Parents: Exploring ways to help student parents balance their academic commitments with family responsibilities.

While these are my three main focuses, there are many other areas of importance, and priorities may shift based on what matters most to students at any given time.

I look forward to working with all of you and making this year an incredible one for everyone at BNU. Let's make the most of our time together and achieve great things!
