Job Title: Social Media Manager Intern
Job Type: Internship with opportunity for part time/ Full time employment
Summary:
Dwayne Nathan Jack, CEO of companies RoadLight Ltd and 7RoadLight is looking for a social media manger intern who is hungry to learn and develop their skills, knowledge and experience in managing social media accounts, both for his personal brand as well as for his businesses.
The Social Media Manager Intern will support the Marketing team in developing and executing social media strategies that enhance our brand presence across various platforms. This internship provides hands-on experience in content creation, social media management, and digital marketing analytics. The ideal candidate is creative, eager to learn, passionate about social media trends and marketing, Willing to learn and adapt to new trends and tools, Strong communicator with a collaborative mindset, Self-motivated and able to work independently with guidance.
Key Responsibilities:
- Content Creation & Scheduling:
- Assist in creating engaging content for social media platforms, including Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, LinkedIn, and others.
- Help maintain a content calendar to ensure timely posting and consistent brand messaging.
- Collaborate with the design team to create visuals and multimedia content.
- Community Engagement:
- Monitor social media channels for trends, feedback, and customer inquiries.
- Engage with followers by responding to comments, messages, and mentions in a timely and professional manner.
- Help grow and nurture the online community by participating in conversations and engaging with influencers.
- Analytics & Reporting:
- Assist in tracking social media metrics and performance, providing regular updates and insights.
- Help compile reports on engagement, reach, and other key performance indicators (KPIs) to inform strategy adjustments.
- Learn and utilize social media management tools to track and analyse data.
- Research & Trend Monitoring:
- Stay updated on the latest social media trends, tools, and best practices.
- Conduct research on competitors’ social media activities and provide insights for improvement.
- Explore new platforms and features to keep the brand at the forefront of social media innovation.
- Campaign Support:
- Support the execution of social media campaigns, including contests, promotions, and product launches.
- Assist in brainstorming and developing creative ideas for campaigns and content.
- Coordinate with the marketing team to align social media activities with broader marketing initiatives.
Qualifications/Experience
Education: Currently pursuing a degree in Marketing, communications, advertising, Business, media or a related field.
Experience: Previous experience or coursework in social media management or digital marketing is a plus, but not required.
Skills:
- Basic understanding of major social media platforms (e.g., Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, LinkedIn).
- Strong writing skills and an eye for detail.
- Creativity and the ability to generate content ideas.
- Familiarity with social media management tools (e.g., Hootsuite, Buffer) is a plus.
- Basic graphic design skills and knowledge of tools like Canva or Adobe Creative Suite are advantageous.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks.
