A year to be proud of

You have done some fantastic learning to date; we want to support your journey by adding in some real-world experience. Our 12 months Marketing Year in Industry Programme aims to compliment your studies and accelerate your development. offering a unique opportunity to accelerate your development by gaining real-world marketing experience to compliment your studies, hopefully setting you up for a limitless career in marketing. During your time with us you’ll be working for one of Centrica’s many well-known brands British Gas, Hive, Centrica Business Solutions or Local Heroes – to name just a few and you’ll have the opportunity to gain experience working on significant projects as part of a team.

Here’s what you will be doing:

Your role during the internship could sit within one of our core marketing, product or propositions teams – so your responsibilities might include interpreting research, creating insights to come up with innovative product ideas, building out full propositions and taking them to market, or planning/executing marketing channel and campaign strategies. Once your product, proposition or marketing campaign is launched, you will be responsible for closely monitoring and measuring its performance and continually optimising your work to drive value to the business.

Depending on where you are placed in the business you may get exposure or have the opportunity to develop skills such as:

• Campaign Delivery/ Strategy

• Brand Management

• Research and Insight Gathering

• Content Creation & Creative Briefing

• Product/ Proposition Development

The Marketing teams are pivotal to the success of Centrica and through the programme you can discover what life is like for our Marketing professionals.

We have a few must-haves:

We’re looking for passionate individuals who are analytical, curious, and willing to learn. In addition, we would like you to demonstrate:

• Predicted minimum 2:1 degree in a STEM subject (2:2 if combined with a Master’s)

• Willing to relocate and try new things

• Desire to learn and develop

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills

• Strong attention to detail, customer focus and data driven

• Ability to deliver to agreed timelines

• Proficiency in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel and Outlook

• Have the right to work in the UK

• In the office a minimum of 2 days a week

• Available to start the programme from 18th June 2024 – 31st July 2025
