It is the job of the Assistant Coach to generally help the Lead Coach to ensure all Rugbytots enjoy their classes with us and:

· To help welcome and acknowledge all participants upon arrival of each class

· To help lead, motivate and engage with the children in your classes, particularly the children who are shy, new or unsure of their surroundings

· Assist the Lead Coach to work though the Rugbytots programme to teach the basic core skills used in rugby in a fun and structured environment using equipment and apparatus provided – the Rugbytots programme must be used

· Encourage team spirit and patience amongst the team by doing appropriate games and tasks in groups and individually

· Referring any parent enquiries or any concerns to the office.

· It is the responsibility of the Assistant Coach to ensure:

· Rugby balls are out of the bag and scattered in the hall ready for the children to play with before their class starts:

o Soft balls for 2-3.5-year-olds

o Hard balls for 3.5-5-year-olds

· To know the game structure of each class, and to ask what equipment the Lead Coach needs for each game before each class starts

· Set up equipment ready for the Lead Coach to run each new game, and neatly put away quickly once a game is finished. The hall needs to be kept tidy at all times throughout the sessions

· Make sure the kit is packed away neat and tidy and no kit is left behind, and the hall is left tidy; clear of rubbish, stickers etc. Keep an eye out for any clothing, water bottles etc that may have been left behind by parents/carers

· If available, be able to cover other or additional Rugbytots classes in emergencies

· To attend all training and refresher courses as required by Rugbytots

· To act in a professional way as a representative of Rugbytots whilst at a Rugbytots venue

· Always have a smile on your face and ensure that everyone in each class has FUN!

KEY ATTRIBUTES – All Rugbytots assistant coaches need to be able to engage with 2-7 year old children in a fun, dramatic and entertaining way. The main objectives at Rugbytots are for the children to have fun and grow in confidence during their time with us. We provide a programme that will take the children on an imaginative rugby journey and dynamic coaches are essential to deliver in the Rugbytots way.

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: £12.00-£14.00 per hour
