Thank you to everyone who has taken part in our Bucks Challenge so far over the last few weeks. We are fast approaching the end and the showcase event…. our 24-hour sport-a-thon. Yes, that’s right, we are going to be doing different sporting events for 24 hours straight. All this starts on Tuesday 20 February 4pm ending the following day at 4pm.
Whats involved?
We have your traditional sports including Volleyball, Netball, Dodgeball, Football, Badminton, Tennis and Basketball, as well as Ultimate Frisbee and Softball. In addition to all these great sports we are theming certain hours:
Disability Sport
A showcase of disability sport with Blind Football and Sitting Volleyball taking centre stage
Nintendo Switch Sports Hour
Are video games more your thing, then get involved in our Nintendo Switch sports hour.
Party Game Hour, Playground Games Hour & Sports Day Hour
We are taking it back to people’s childhood with hours themed around school sports days and playground classics as well as your standard birthday party games. Who didn’t love a game of “Stuck in the Mud” or “Whats the time Mr Wolf” during break times and then representing your house at Sports day in the sack race or Egg & Spoon. Not forgetting every child’s birthday parties and playing pass the parcel and musical chairs – we are bringing it all back.
UV Hour
We are bringing glow in the dark sports to Events Hall, with Volleyball, Table Tennis and Zumba.
Carnival Games
“Roll up, roll up” with your favourite carnival games including Tin Can Alley, Shooting Gallery and Hook a Duck.
Gladiator Hour
Spend the early hours of the morning in giant sumo suits, wearing inflatable boxing gloves and duelling like the Gladiators.
Olympic Hour
With the Olympic games happening this summer in Paris, this hour is themed around sports you find at the Olympic games – hobby horses, hurdles and relay and curling.
As well as these themed hours, we will be having a couple of bikes to cycle a total of 24,000m as well who can cycle 240m in the quickest time.
A full timetable of events can be found below.
How can I take part?
Head along to the Events Hall at any time during the 24-hour period – stay the whole time should you wish. All we ask for is a small donation or £3 per individual towards our RAG charity.
There will be prizes throughout the night for a variety of different things, including who takes part in the most activities…. Staying the full 24 hours doesn’t sound too bad, eh?
